건강식품미래포럼은 산하에 건강기능식품연구회를 두어 건강기능식품의 과학발전을 도모하여 왔다. 연구회의 구성과 기능 다음과 같다.

1. 1. 구성 : 식품·영양학·약학·의학·한의학 분야의 전문가 및 식품 관련 정부 관리들로 구성
2. 2. 기능
   1. 1) 건강기능식품에 대한 자신들의 연구 결과 발표
   2. 2) 해외로부터 새로이 생산되는 연구결과, 정보 및 지식을 발표하고 교환
   3. 3) 정기 학술대회 및 수시로 학술 모임을 개최

HFFF established the Scientific Committee to promote the development of science of health functional foods (HFFs). The Committee was organized by experts of HFF-related fields such as academia (food & nutrition science, pharmacy, medicine and oriental medicine), institutes, industries and food department of the government. They have been presenting the results of their own studies and introducing new information and knowledge from abroad. For this purpose, the Committee has been organizing the conferences and seminars regularly and whenever if necessary.
